I. 회장 개회사, Opening Speech by President

Good evening everyone

Opening the meeting, I would like to report the number of directors attending. KTCC has total ( 35 ) board of directors, today ( 25  ) directors including Proxies from non-attendants have registered for this 3^rd BOD meeting which are convenable numbers in comply with our constitution. 

First of all, I would like to thank you, board of directors, past president, advisors, Commercial and Financial & Economic Counselor from Korean Enbassy and new members for your attendance today at 3^rd Board of Director’s Meeting. Nice to see all of you again.It is fortunate that Thai political situations have been eased and being stabilized while Thai government is striving to implement reconciliation & rehabilitation plan and instill confidence in the public. We have noticed, compared to the same period of last year, overall macro market outlook and economic indicators including export & other index have been unexpectedly showing solid growth.

As we announced, our new office in Lajarpark building 6^th Fl. has been opened and started its working from 1st of Jun together with IP-Desk. Since it has been fully decorated and equipped last 2 months, it is my great pleasure to invite you, our members to come and see. Our new office is looking forward to your visit any time and always you are warmly welcomed.

Last 2 months since 2^nd BOD meeting in Jun, we, KTCC had participated in several events and performed activities, typically such as BOI Investment Seminar in Seoul which I attended as speaker, Thai Investment Environments Seminar by JSCCIT, KTCC Advisory Committee meeting and also there was Korean Ambassador’s courtesy visit our new office to encourage us.

As stated in the agenda, we have following several events and projects which are going to be implemented and achieved within this year for our members. In this regard, once again, I would like to draw your attention and unfailing support on each activity, referring vice president name in charge.

-. Publication of Labor Law and Dispute Cases under Ryu Jong-Soon..

-. Publication for Thai energy related Industries under Mr. Andrew Lim.

-. FTA Seminar under Mrs. Hong Ji-Hee & Mr. Bak and Labor Dispute Forum under Mr. Ryu Jong-Soon.

I dare say we can not successfully succeed and complete each project without your participation and support. Later this session, each vice president in charge will report you its outstanding progress and please keep in mind what kind of support they need from our members.

Monday on 16^th, I and ambassador attended at “Prime Minister’s Industry Award” Ceremony at Government House in order to congratulate Samsung Electronic Thailand and Samsung Electro-Mechanics for their price award. For your information, this is annual event in Thai Government to encourage business sectors. This year total 31 outstanding companies were awarded from various industries selected by Ministry of Industry after their careful examination.

I hope more Korean Companies should have a chance to be awarded this price next year and for this, KTCC will try to promote and do support our members especially in making inter-communication with concerned authority to be qualified. 

In order to protect our business interest in this unique Thai business environment, I would like to emphasize that we need more corporative spirit and participation throughout our chamber activity so that we can increase the power of unity and solidarity.
